A Quebec resident is appearing in Napanee court today (Monday) after a traffic stop in Napanee resulted in the discovery of cash, drugs and weapons.
Lennox and Addington OPP were conducting speed enforcement on the westbound 401 on March 7 around 10:30 p.m.
The investigation revealed that the driver was in possession of a large quantity of illegal drugs including cocaine, morphine and methamphetamine, along with thousands of dollars in cash. As well, the driver was found in possession of two loaded handguns, at least one of which is believed to have been stolen in the United States.
Bilaal Mohanned, 33, of Pierrefonds, Quebec is facing charges of:
- Possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm (2 counts);
- Possession of prohibited device or ammunition (3 counts);
- Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm (2 counts);
- Possession of a firearm contrary to a prohibition order (2 counts);
- Carrying a concealed weapon (2 counts);
- Possession of the proceeds of crime; and
- Possession of stolen property under $5000, all contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada; as well as
- Possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking (7 counts);
- Possession of a Schedule 4 substance for the purpose of trafficking (2 counts), contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act; and
- Stunt driving, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.
