Around 50 people walked the streets of downtown Belleville early last evening in a national effort to help the homeless, hungry, and lonely.
The annual event is known as the Coldest Night of the Year and in Belleville all the money raised in the walk goes to Nightlife, an organization that provides a social night and refreshment every Wednesday night at the Victoria Avenue Baptist Church in the downtown.
Kelly Oribine says this year’s Coldest Night of the Year walk raised at least $11,000.
