Details are few but there was a very serious assault in the Quinte region yesterday (Saturday) afternoon.
In a tweet sent this (Sunday) afternoon, OPP say Prince Edward County OPP officers responded around 3 o’clock to an incident.
Police attended a local hospital where the victim, a woman, was being treated. She was later airlifted to a Kingston hospital with life-threatening injuries.
A 52-year-old man from Picton man faces aggravated assault and disobeying court order charges.
His name is not being released to protect the identity of the victim. He appears in a Belleville courtroom sometime this week.
An investigation continues.
