It looks like Belleville’s Pop-Up businesses have found a real home, at least for this summer.
Monday night, city council approved a plan to move them to West Zwick’s Park for 2020.
A staff report to council noted the last minute changes last year due to flooding conditions caused many problems for the four vendors before they were finally moved to West Riverside Park, and one ended up dropping out.
Chair of the city’s Economic Retention and Development Committee Councillor Ryan Williams told Quinte News 2020 is a “make it or break it year” for the idea.
Mayor Mitch Panciuk called for paid advertising, and a “messaging strategy” to promote the Pop-Ups.
Director of Economic Development for the city, Karen Poste told council one vendor has expressed interest so far.
