The value of construction in the city of Belleville during 2019 topped the previous year by nearly $26 million.
There was an increase in new residential construction, 221 new homes with a price tag of $48.8 million.
There were a total of 142 new apartment units built during the past year.
During 2019, five new commercial projects were constructed at $14.2 million, and four industrial ones at $9.2 million.
The figures, released by the city’s Building Department on Monday, show construction value last year at $140.2 million compared to $114.3 million in 2018.
