Belleville Councillor Paul Carr has called for a report on three recent city employee hirings that were the subject of an Integrity Commisisoner’s report.
After the city council meeting this week, Carr told Quinte News he has been told by the city’s former Human Resources officer Tim Osborne there had been some “irregularities” in the hiring process.
Carr says he was concerned about the irregularities because they were people who did not meet the minimum standard for hiring.
He pointed to training costs incurred by the city for people who didn’t meet the requirements and wants to know what action has been taken.
City Clerk Matt Macdonald will report back to council on the issue at its meeting in January.
