Work is expected to begin soon on taking a close look at Belleville’s Fire Protective Services through a recent consultant’s report.
Mayor Mitch Panciuk told Quinte News recently the report is a “really different look” at fire services and the newly-formed Fire Protective Services committee is expected to come back to city council with some recommendations.
Different areas of the city pay different rates for fire service and that issue is expected to be considered in the committee work.
Pomax Consulting undertook a year-long study of the fire services department and made a number of recommendations, including a recommendation that the volunteer and career sections of the department be combined.
