A company that makes breakfast cereal in Cobourg is also stepping up to give back to its community.
Post Consumer Brands is donating $25,000 to Northumberland Food for Thought – one of the largest single corporate donations ever received by the non-profit partnership.
The funds will help support nutrition programs at 40 schools in Northumberland County, including those in Brighton and Campbellford, that help provide food to thousands of students every day.
Food for Thought helps coordinate local student nutrition programs, which are free and voluntary.
Community Development Coordinator Beth Kolisnyk tells Quinte News, “This year it is helping provide funding for food bought through an online store.”
The money is used primarily for breakfast programs at the schools.
