Plans are underway to apply for funding for a major expansion of the Tyendinaga Township Community Centre.
Tyendinaga Township council has decided to apply for funding under the Investing in Canada Infrastructure program to update the centre on McFarland Road.
CAO Brad Roach tells Quinte News the idea is to expand the overall capacity, “So we can have a little more event-based use of the property.”
Roach says there could be an expanded area for events such as weddings and parties then, potentially, a break-off area for conference rooms and smaller rooms for business people travelling through the area.
The deadline for applications for the joint federal-provincial program is November 12.
