Quinte West Council has agreed to sell land to a company planning to set up a cannabis production facility in the North Murray Industrial Park.
The land in question is a five acre parcel and will be sold to Quinte Grow Corp, for a large production facility, at a cost of $175,000.
The company is planning to grow and produce both medicinal and recreational products, with the first phase of construction including a 20,000 square foot facility.
Director of Planning Brian Jardine says the company has plans to build another 20,000 addition as phase two.
Since the deal was just approved on Monday, there is no word yet on when that construction will begin.
