A significant apartment complex is being proposed near one of Belleville’s busiest intersections.
Geertsma Homes is proposing to build four apartment buildings and a community building on the west side of Sidney Street just south of Bell Boulevard and The Rental Store.
Right now the site contains a vacant lot and three small older houses which would be demolished to make room for the apartment buildings.

There would be two four-storey buildings and two with five storeys containing a total of 96 units.
An initial public meeting on the plan will be held by the city’s Planning Advisory Board on October 7.
