UPDATE @4:20 p.m.: Quinte West OPP have cleared out from the North Murray Street Industrial Park in Trenton after shots were heard early this afternoon (September 5).
The Canine Unit, Emergency Response Team and Tactical Response Unit all responded around 1 p.m. to conduct a search.
Officials state the large police presence was due to the potential danger of such an incident.
No injuries were reported.
Police are continuing to investigate and are asking for the public’s help in identifying the person or persons responsible.

There is a heavy police presence in Trenton’s North Murray Industrial Park this afternoon.
A Twitter post from the OPP says officers are investigating reports of gun shots, but they’ve yet to locate the source of the sounds.
There are no current reports of any injuries.
Members of the public are being asked to avoid the area until the investigation is complete.
