Northumberland OPP along with the Ministry of Transportation took 10 vehicles out of service during a commercial vehicle enforcement blitz.
On Wednesday, officers were conducting commercial vehicle checks on County Road 28, just north of Hwy 401 near Telephone Road.
During the blitz, 17 inspections were completed resulting in one plate seizure and 13 fines laid in addition to the 10 vehicles taken out of service.
According to police, commercial vehicle-related crashes account for 11% of the 42,000 collisions on OPP patrolled roads so far this year and are linked to 30% of the fatal crashes.
