The provincial Training Program run by Loyalist College is being praised for recently helping a number of peopleĀ on social assistance find jobs.
The Elevate Plus program provides free training and support for workers to enter local manufacturing and food processing jobs.
Four weeks of classroom training are followed by a two week job trial.
At the most recent session, nine of the 15 graduates were on social assistance.
Director of Community and Human Services Erin Rivers tells Quinte News all of them graduated.
Rivers says all of these Elevate Plus students on social assistance found jobs.
