The Belleville Bulldogs Women’s team won the Toronto Rugby Union Championship this past Saturday with a 58-10 win over Peterborough.
There were tries from Kellee Smith (3), Jordan Semark (3), Hannah Wilson (2), Jess Hercus, and Shelly Malette. Natasha Luffman kicked one convert and Lauryn Bons kicked 3.
The women finished first in the East division and defeated the Markham Irish in quarterfinals and Balmy Beach in semi-finals.
The Bulldogs have two other teams also fighting for TRU titles this Wednesday, August 21.
The U-15 girls host Oshawa at 7 p.m. at MA Sills and the U-17 girls travel to Oshawa for a 7 p.m. kickoff.
The U-15 boys are travelling to Kingston for an exhibition game Wednesday evening as well.
