Eastern Ontario’s largest Plowing Match and Farm Show gets underway next week with a long list of events.
About 200 exhibitors of agricultural technology are expected at the show, which this year is being held at the farm of Brian and April Thompson on Sills Road.
There will be woodlot information, crafts, family programming and Queen of the Furrow competition.
Spokesman Jim Haggerty tells Quinte News technology plays a big role in agriculture now.
Drones are being used as well, to help in analyzing different field areas for drought and fertilizer requirements.
Haggerty says the plowing match involves plowing with teams of horses, as well as with tractors.
The Hastings County Plowing Match runs August 21 and 22 at 1207 Sills Road.
