UPDATE @ 4:00 p.m.: OPP say the affected section of highway is being reopened and are asking drivers to be patient as the backlog clears.

Traffic is backed up on the eastbound 401 at this hour on Wednesday.
OPP are reporting a single vehicle rollover west of Shannonville Road that occurred shortly after 2 p.m.
It is reported two people were in the vehicle and needed to be extricated by Belleville firefighters who responded to the scene.
The OPP also are reporting both eastbound lanes are closed until injured parties can be removed.
They are requesting motorists follow the EDR and that attempting to deviate from the EDR will only result in further delay and congestion. Update to follow.
