Police have made arrests in separate drug investigations in Prince Edward County.
In the first case, on Friday, Prince Edward County report that an officer on patrol observed what he determined to be a drug-cash exchange transaction in a car and identified himself to the two occupants. Through investigation, police seized a small quantity of drugs and $175 in Canadian currency. They then charged 29-year-old Ryan Conor Hobbs of Picton with trafficking in Schedule l substance – cocaine, possession of a Schedule l substance – cocaine, and having care and control of vehicle with cannabis readily available.
Thirty-year-old Andrew Robert Joseph Regimbal of Picton has been charged with possession of a Schedule l substance – cocaine.
Both accused were released from custody on a promise to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Federal Court on August 28.
On Sunday, just after 7:00 p.m., OPP received a report of a break and enter to an apartment on Richmond Street in Picton.
Officers found an unauthorized person inside. Police seized several “loaded” hypodermic needles and assorted drug paraphernalia.
Thirty-five year-old Melissa Ann McGiffen of Picton has been charged with break and enter to commit an indictable offence, fail to comply with probation order, and possession of a Schedule l substance – methamphetamine.
The accused was released from custody on a promise to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Federal Court on September 11 in Picton.
