A lifelong resident of Belleville and a recently elected Trustee with the Hastings Prince Edward District School Board has died.
Michael Rush died overnight Monday.
He had been elected as a trustee during the 2018 municipal election and was the Chair of the board’s Operations and Finance Committee.
Numerous posts on Facebook praise Rush’s dedication, patience and sense of humour.
For years, he was a regular face at Belleville city council meetings and often commented on the goings-on in the community.
School Board Chair Shannon Binder called Rush a “warm and compassionate member of our team” and says “His humour and enthusiasm will be sadly missed”.
