Former Northumberland-Quinte West MPP Lou Rinaldi has been named to the board of a Northumberland County housing agency.
Rinaldi was one of 10 new directors named to the Northumberland County Housing Corporation, at its annual general meeting this week.
Acting County Warden Bob Sanderson says, “The county’s plans and priorities are evolving to meet local needs, so the governance of social housing units evolve, to respond to the operating environment.”
Sanderson also noted that the formation of a citizen-based board with housing-related expertise is an important “new step” for the agency.
In a statement, Board Chair Gil Brocanier points out that “important work lies ahead for this board as we seek to develop long-term strategies to ensure safe and affordable housing options for our community.”
Rinaldi was a member of the provincial Liberals for a total of 12 years, from 2003 to 2011 and 2014 to 2018.
