Belleville is becoming a destination city according to the latest figures released by an American U-Haul company.
The company states that the city saw a 3% year-over-year increase in one-way U-Haul incoming traffic, among do-it-yourself movers.
Belleville’s Manager of Economic and Strategic Initiatives Karen Poste tells Quinte News she can “believe the three-percent. Very consistent with what we’re see in the market place in the demand for housing stock for folks moving into this area.”
Poste says local employers are “desperate for employees.”
Belleville is the number 41 Canadian Destination City on the U-haul list.
Kingston is number 15 and Peterborough number twenty-nine.
July 1 is considered “Moving Day,” one of the busiest days for residential moves in Canada.
