May building activity was down in Quinte West compared to the same month last year.
Eighty-two permits were issued last month with a value of more thann $12.2 million, compared to 107 permits in May 2018, valued at $17.7 million plus.
Twenty-six permits were issued for new residential builds, 32 were issued for residential renovations, seven permits were issued for commercial projects and 17 permits filled in the “other” category.
To date, building activity is well up this year, compared to last.
Three hundred thirteen permits have been issued with a value of more than $65.5 million, compared to 296 permits worth $38.1 million, in the first five months of 2018.
