A Picton man is facing criminal charges after he tried to avoid a RIDE check in Prince Edward County last week.
Prince Edward County OPP say on May 31, at 11 p.m. officers noticed an approaching vehicle slow down and turn around to avoid a RIDE check on County Road 5 outside of Picton.
Officers followed the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop.
The driver, 57 year-old Robert Juby, failed the roadside test and was charged with operating a motor vehicle while impaired and operating a motor vehicle while prohibited.
He was also charged with two counts of driving while suspended.
He was released on a promise to appear in Picton later this month.
