The Victoria Day long weekend was a busy one for Lennox and Addington OPP officers on patrol.
According to police, there were numerous charges laid.
- A 20-year-old man was found passed out behind the wheel of his pickup truck in the ditch in the Shannoville area just after 6 a.m. Sunday May 19. Caleb Maracle of Belleville, has been charged with operation while impaired
- A 36-year-old male party was arrested in the parking lot of Napanee McDonald’s after several motorists complained about his driving. The male was given a three day driving suspension after failing a field sobriety test. The driver had his young child in the vehicle
- A 31-year-old Deseronto male faces careless driving and cannabis charges after colliding with a telephone pole on County Road 2 just after 8 a.m. on May 18. The driver collided with a vehicle on County Rd. 2 and then ended up in the ditch breaking a telephone pole in two
- 46-year-old Robert Ronald Michael Button of Belleville faces impaired operation and stunt driving charges after being pulled over for travelling 153 kilometers per hour on Highway 401 at about 5 a.m. on the morning of May 18. His vehicle was impounded for seven days as well
- A 37-year-old Quebec male faces charges after assaulting a cab driver on the 401 just after midnight on May 19. Sebastien Dupuis will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Napanee at a later date
- A six-vehicle collision that caused delays on Hwy 401 west on May 20 just before 3 p.m. sent two drivers to hospital with unspecified injuries. The collision required five tow trucks to clear the highway. A driver has been charged with careless operation under the Highway Traffic Act
- On May 20, just before noon, a male party was charged with stunt driving after being stopped going 152 kilometres per hour. The driver additionally faces a cannabis charge
- A 35-year-old Woodbridge male was stopped travelling 152 kilometres per hour on highway 401 on May 19 just before 8 p.m.
- A Quebec driver also lost the use of his vehicle for seven days, and is facing a court date for travelling 158 kilometres per hour on highway 401 on May 19, just after 9 p.m.
- A 22-year-old Madoc male was charged with drive under suspension, no insurance, unauthorized plates, expired tags, and had his vehicle seized for seven days after a traffic stop on highway 401 in Tyendinaga on May 20at about 10 a.m.
- A 39-year-old male party from Ottawa faces numerous charges after a police stop on Highway 401 near Napanee on May 19 around 3 a.m. Kingston Police had reported a suspect operating a stolen vehicle who was reported as impaired was observed leaving on the 401 westbound. L&A County OPP located the suspect vehicle and conducted a rolling block maneuver to safely stop the suspect. No injuries, or damages to vehicles were reported. Daniel Plaatjes faces several charges, including refusal to provide a breath sample, theft of a motor vehicle, drive while prohibited
