A popular fair aimed at older residents in the community is back for its eighth year.
The City of Belleville will once again be hosting the Older Adult Fair on May 30, at the Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre.
The free event is hosted by the Recreation, Culture and Community Services Department to showcase the city’s recreation programs all in one space.
There are more than 90 confirmed exhibitors for the event which runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
All activities will be on the main floor at the QSWC in the Mackay Insurance Arena, the gymnasium and Belleville’s 50+ Centre.
Seminars will provide information on an array of topics that will be of interest and relevance to older adults.
- 11a.m. – 12 p.m.: Should You Stay or Should You Move? Presented by: Kingsbridge Retirement Community
- 12:15 – 1 p.m.: Doing Your Taxes – What’s In It For You? Presented by: Canada Revenue Agency
- 1:15 – 1:45 p.m.: Accessible Travel Presented by: Maritime Travel and Collette Tours
- 2 – 3 p.m.: Let’s Talk Diabetes! Presented by: Diabetes Canada
Throughout the day there will also be demonstrations of the adult fitness classes available through the City’s recreation programs. Participants are welcome and encouraged to join in and participate in these hands-on demonstrations.

- 11:30 – 11:40 a.m.: Drumming for Health with Sherri
- 11:45 a.m. – 12 p.m.: Diabetic Exercise with Amber
- 12:15 – 12:30 p.m. Stretch and Strengthen with Debbie
- 12:45 – 1 p.m.: Older Adult Yoga with Joanne
- 1:15 – 1:30 p.m.: Tone and Sculpt with Jordan
- 1:45 – 2 p.m.: Chair Yoga with Kathy
- 2:15 – 2:30 p.m.: Senior Fit with Marek
Complimentary light snacks will be provided in the gym.
