The paramedic service in Ontario is taking another hit.
AMO announced yesterday land paramedic services are being frozen at 2018 levels.
They noted because of a yearly funding lag, paramedic levels are actually being held at the 2017 funding allocation and any growth in service costs contained in municipal 2019 budgets will fall to municipal taxpayers.
Quinte West Mayor Jim Harrison says he found out about the cuts last night (Tuesday) and he wants to have some say and be part of this discussion process from the beginning, not the end.
He told Quinte News, in his opinion, input from paramedics themselves will likely provide a solution to improve the service without mutilating cuts.
Harrison also said he is not willing to go backwards or let things slip.
