It’s been a busy week for the City of Belleville’s 12 person delegation to its sister city of Gunpo South Korea.
The group has visited with members of the chamber of commerce and toured various factories and attractions in Gunpo and other parts of the country.
CJBQ’s Lorne Brooker is on the trip and spoke to Mayor Mitch Panciuk who says despite their differences in size, there are a lot of similarities between businesses in Belleville and Gunpo.
Panciuk added that along with learning more about business practices there, the trip has given him some ideas on how to develop some of the public spaces here, moving forward.
The trip will continue through the weekend and includes a trip to the controversial demilitarized zone, on the border of North and South Korea.
