Provincial police have shut down a meth lab north of Belleville, following an investigation that began in March of this year.
Central Hastings OPP and various OPP units raided the property on Highway 62 in Eldorado and found the meth lab in a house, along with bulk amounts of dangerous chemicals in a garage on the property.
Three people from the GTA were arrested during simultaneous raids and all three are facing drug trafficking and production charges.
Police say the production of meth is also leading to an increase in unauthorized hazardous chemical dump sites around the province and say the impact of both producing and consuming methamphetamine can be devastating to people and communities.
All three suspects had bail hearings in Belleville over the weekend. The results of those hearings have not been released.
