The Napanee Raiders have opened the Ontario Junior “C” Hockey semi finals with a decisive 6-2 win over the Alliston Hornets.
Justynn Steven scored twice with Ryan Casselman adding a goal and two assists as the Raiders built a 6-0 lead. Napanee outshot Alliston 42-17.
Game 2 is tomorrow night in Alliston with game 3 in Napanee Sunday afternoon at 4:30.
Dukes can advance
The Wellington Dukes have put themselves in a position to advance to the OJHL championship round for the second year in a row. The defending champions lead the South-East Conference final 3 games to one with game 5 tonight in North York.
If a sixth game is necessary it will be tomorrow night in Wellington.
Quinte Red Devils in 2nd at Provincials
The Quinte Foley Bus Lines Red Devils go into the final day of round robin play in second place at the Ontario Hockey Federation Bantam “AAA” championships in Toronto.
Quinte split their two games yesterday (Wed) falling to the Marlies 3-2 then topping the Toronto Titans 5-4. Owen Beck scored the winner in that one. Dalyn Wakely scored twice with Jackson Stewart adding a goal and assist.
The Red Devils are 3-1-1. They face the Eastern Ontario Wild this morning (Thurs).
