Dukes and Hawks back on ice
The Ontario Junior Hockey League playoffs resume with game 3 for both the Trenton Golden Hawks and Wellington Dukes tonight.
The Golden Hawks host Whitby at 7:30 at the Dunc McDonald Community Gardens while the Dukes are in Coboug to play the Cougars at 7.
Both series are tied 1-1.
Junior “C” playdowns begin
The Napanee Raiders are home to the Picton Pirates to open their Provincial Junior “C” second round playoff series. Game time is 7:30. Game 2 is Thursday in Picton.
Local schools at OFSAA
Local high school teams are spread out across the Province playing in various Ontario (OFSAA) championships.
The Quinte Christian Eagles are in Kenora where they’re off top a 2-0 start at the OFSAA Girls “A” Volleyball tournament.
In boys basketball, the Prince Edward Collegiate Panthers lost their opening round game of the OFSAA “AAA” tournament in Hamilton.
The Ontario “AA” boys basketball championships are in Timmins where Barrie downed the St. Theresa Titans.
And the Nicholson Crusaders are 0-1 at the boys basketball “A” tournament in London.
Rugby tryouts tonight
The Belleville Bulldogs hold indoor rugby workouts at the Loyalist Sports dome tonight.
Those in grade 9 and under will work out from 5 to 6. Grade 10 and over between 6 and 7. The cost is $5. No cleats are allowed. No experience necessary.
Skyhawks Minor Football registration
The Skyhawks Minor Football League (formerly the Belleville Minor Football League) will hold registration for players born in 2005 to 2007 tonight (Tues) and tomorrow (Wed) from 6-8pm. The cost is $200 which includes a jersey, mouth guard and loan of equipment. Registration takes place at the League office at 100 Station Street in Belleville.
