The court case against a Belleville woman facing historical sexual assault charges has been put over for a month.
Lawyer Edward Kafka has been retained on behalf of Sandra Forcier and stood the matter down in provincial court.
The 48 year-old woman is facing two counts of sexual assault and two counts of sexual exploitation after a victim came forward alleging sexual misconduct dating back to 2012 and 2013. She was released on a promise to appear and numerous conditions.
Belleville Police began investigating the matter in June of 2018.
According to Forcier’s LinkedIn, she worked for the Highland Shores Children’s Aid Society at the time of the alleged incidents.
Kafka says her next scheduled appearance will be on March 28.
Forcier is currently employed at the Belleville and Quinte West Community Health Centre. Executive Director Sheila Braidek says Forcier has been on leave from her job as a counselor, who works with pregnant women and mothers with addiction issues, for an extended period of time.
