On February 20, 2019 at approximately 6:40 p.m. an officer from the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) measured a black sedan travelling 137 km/h on County Road 28 in the Municipality of Port Hope during inclement weather.
The black sedan continued to drive in an aggressive and dangerous manner passing numerous vehicles as it headed eastbound onto Dale Road. The vehicle was stopped at the intersection of Dale Road and Burnham Street in Hamilton Township.
Bailey Logan, Tolland (age 24) of Bewdley, Ontario was arrested and charged under the Criminal Code of Canada with Dangerous Operations of a Motor Vehicle. He was additionally charged under the Highway Traffic Act with Race a Motor Vehicle – Excessive Speed.
The accused’s licence was seized and the vehicle he was driving was towed and impounded. He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg on March 27, 2019.
