The City of Belleville today announced the upcoming retirement of Brian Cousins, Director of Finance/City Treasurer. Carol Hinze, the current Manager of Finance/Deputy Treasurer for the City of Belleville, has been named Director of Finance/City Treasurer effective June 29, 2019.
Cousins has been an employee of the City for 29 years and has held the role of City Treasurer from 1996 – 2019. His in-depth knowledge of municipal finance and his natural leadership skills have been a major asset to the City of Belleville.
Hinze is an 18-year employee of the city’s Finance Department and brings a wealth of experience and skill to her new role. Hinze holds a CPA-CGA Designation and has been the Manager of Finance/Deputy Treasurer since 2004. Previously she held the positions of Acting Director, Customer Service & Finance and Manager of Finance & Special Projects.
Hinze will begin her new position with the City of Belleville effective July 2, 2019.
