Belleville Police say one man is in custody as a homicide investigation is underway.
Emergency personnel responded to a Murney Street address early Wednesday afternoon after a report of an altercation that left one man in medical distress.
Officers arrived at the scene and found a man without vital signs. He succumbed to his injuries at the scene say police.
Witnesses were able to help police identify a suspect who was still in the area and was arrested without incident.
Police say there is no further threat to community safety and the investigation is now in the hands of the Criminal Investigations Branch and Forensic Identification Services.
No other details were offered by police.
