The annual Street Stylez event hosted by the owner of a local hair salon is set for tomorrow (Sunday).
Melissa Payton Van Norman says she started this event as a way to give back to her community.
This is the fourth year for Street Stylez and she says they continue to hold this event because of the response they get from those who attend.
Van Norman says this is a no questions asked event.
This year there are 11 hair stylists participating which is up from last year.
All participating hair stylists are donating their time to this event.
Van Norman says you never really know what people are going through and a fresh new style and a decent hair cut can go a long way to get their self-confidence back.
She says it’s also about building relationships.
The event runs from 12-5 p.m. at the Salvation Army Church at 209 Bridge Street West on Sunday, February 17.
