It was like deja-vu all over again and that was a good thing for the Belleville Senators.
For the second time in six days the B-Sens beat the Marlies in Toronto in overtime and for the second time Logan Brown scored the winner. This one at 1:05 of o.t. to lift Belleville over Toronto 4-3.
It was Brown’s 12th of the season and extends his point streak to 8 games (7 goals and 10 assists) while extending the B-Sens point streak to 9 game (6 wins – 3 shootout losses).
Brown’s Linemate Drake Batherson had a goal to extend his team record point streak to 9 (8 goals and 11 asists. ) Batherson had 11 points in 4 games and stands a good chance to be named the AHL Player of the Week for a second time. Adam Tambellini tied the game in the third with Darren Archibald also scoring.
The B-Sens lead the season series 6-1-1-1 with Toronto. Tambellini says the Marlies bring out the best in Belleville.
Marcus Hogberg stopped 31 shots to improve his record to 7-4-3.
The win moves Belleville over the .500 mark for the first time this season. Coach Troy Mann.
