It was called a win-win situation as the Quinte West Chamber of Commerce officially celebrated the grand opening of their new expanded Business Centre.
Suzanne Andrews, the Chamber General Manager says they used the recently vacated space at the back of their building at 97 Front Street in Trenton to create two new flex offices and a meeting room.
She says in the short time the rooms have been available, they’ve already seen a lot of use.
The opening was celebrated with a ribbon cutting with the board and Quinte West Mayor Jim Harrison along with representatives from MP Neil Ellis’ and MPP Todd Smith’s office.
The expanded space was made possible with a $10,000 grant from Trenval as part of the Eastern Ontario Development Program. They also provided a loan below prime over a five year period to the Chamber to make the work possible.
The work was completed in a two week period with the support of many local businesses and contractors.
The space provides wifi, hardwired internet as well as new phone lines that allow for audio conferencing.
Past president Paul Moran said this new space is a vital part of helping small businesses improve their operations and it was the right place to go for the Chamber of Commerce going forward.
