Belleville Senators winger Drake Batherson has been named the best of the best.
Batherson earned Most Valuable Player honours after helping the North Division to a 1-0 shootout win over the Atlantic to win the AHL All Star Classic in Springfield Massachusetts.
Batherson scored 5 goals in the North’s 3 preliminary games then converted on his shootout attempt in the Championship match.
That capped a big offensive week for Batherson as he scored a goal and 5 assists in the 3 games leading up to the All Star break.
B-Sens defenceman Christian Wolanin also played for the North.
Batherson is second in scoring with Belleville with 31 points (9+22) in 31 games. He missed 15 games while playing with the parent Ottaawa Senators.
