Sixteen-year-old Connor Bazilsky of the Victory Barbell Club in Ameliasburgh is a national champion.
Bazilsky lifted his way to a gold medal at the Junior Canadian Weightlifting Championships in Brossard Quebec.
He snatched 183 pounds and added 251 pounds in the Clean and Jerk for a total of 434 pounds. Both were personal bests in his weight class.
Bazilsky was a silver medalist at the 2018 National Junior Championships.
