A 25-year-old Quinte West man has been charged with careless driving following a four-vehicle collision on Hwy. 62 last week.
Last Thursday (Jan 17), Central Hastings OPP were called to a multi-vehicle collision on Hwy. 62 at Quin-Mo-Lac Road.
A 23-year-old female resident of Tweed was southbound on Highway 62 operating a pickup truck. The driver was stopped waiting to turn left onto Quin-Mo-Lac Road when she was rear-ended by a southbound car. The driver was not injured. The southbound driver , a 25-year-old male resident of Quinte West was transported to hospital for minor injuries.
As a result of the pickup truck being rear-ended, it entered into the northbound lane causing a collision with a northbound car. The driver, a 59-year-old female resident of Stirling, Ontario, was transported to hospital for minor injuries. That car then crossed into the southbound lanes and collided with a southbound SUV just north of the original collision. The SUV was driven by a 55-year-old female resident from Mississauga, Ontario. She did not sustain any injuries.
All the vehicles sustained damage and were towed from the scene.
The highway was closed for an hour while police investigated.
