It appears voting by internet in Quinte West is here to stay.
At its meeting Monday night Quinte West council will see a staff report showing that
one third of all ballots cast in October’s local election were done via internet.
That’s up from 21% in the 2014 election. A total of 10,532 ballots were cast in the last election and
voter turnout overall was higher at 35%.
Staff say the biggest problems with the election process were work and frustration associated with
the voter’s list provided by the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation.
