The second man charged after incidents involving a boater and a boat docked at the mouth of the Trent River last September has been sentenced.
Shayne Desormo, 31 at the time of the incidents, pleaded guilty to break and enter with intent recently and was given a 30-day jail sentence on top of 26 days already served, 12 months probation and a 10 year weapons prohibition.
Another man, William Cross, received a similar sentence earlier. He was 22 at the time. Both men are from Quinte West.
A small inflatable boat and other items were stolen from a boat and 2 days later the men, both wearing balaclavas, boarded the same boat again, this time assaulting the owner and firing a flare gun.
The victim was not seriously injured.
