One winning streak was extended while another ended for our Junior A teams.
Jeff Lindsay scored the winning goal and Benjamin Allard Robitaille stopped 24 shots as the Trenton Golden Hawks tripped up the Fury 2-1 in Whitby. Cameron Gaylord also scored for Trenton as they win their fourth in a row to move one point behind first place Cobourg in the OJHL’s East Division. The Cougars have 4 games in hand.
In Wellington the Dukes ran out of gas in overtime. Jacob Buerger scored to give the Buffalo Junior Sabres a 4-3 victory ending Wellington’s 5 game win streak. The Dukes were playing their third game of the weekend. Zac Uens, Logan White and Elijah Gonsalves scored with Tyson Gilmour adding two assists for the Dukes. Next up Wellington is home to Trenton Friday night at Lehigh Arena.
In Junior “C” play, the first place Napanee Raiders rolled over Port Hope 6-1. Reid Humphrey scored twice with Cullen Hinds adding a goal and assist.
Gananoque upset the Picton Pirates 5-3.
And Port Perry defeated Campbellford 7-2. Benny Scarr scored both goals for the Rebels.
