It might be a new year but it’s actually late in the season in the Ontario Junior Hockey League. With that in mind the Wellington Dukes have picked a good time to get hot.
Wellington doubled the visiting Lindsay Muskies 8-4 for their third straight win. Tim Fallowfield scored twice with an assist. Ben Woodhouse had a goal and 3 assists with Andrew Rinaldi adding a goal and two helpers. Dukes coach John Druce says the recent Christmas break helped his team.
Wellington is fourth in the East Division 5 points behind Trenton and Whitby. The Fury are in Wellington Friday night.
Meanwhile the Golden Hawks meet the first place Cougars in Cobourg tonight.
In Junior “C” play, Logan White, Justin Arnold and Derek Vos scored third period goals to pace the Picton Pirates over the Amherstview Jets 4-1.
And the first place Napanee Raiders nipped Gananoque 4-3. Curtis Marrison with the winner. Cameron Harris and Ryan Casselman had a goal and assist for Napanee.
Tonight it’s Campbellford at Port Hope.
