The head of the Belleville Chamber of Commerce says the group worked through 2018 with a renewed sense of purpose, trying to explain that prosperous businesses are the backbone of the community.
Jill Raycroft says along with the usual chamber breakfasts and other community events, the establishment of the Cornerstone Award was an important part of spreading that message and recognizing key business people in the city.
Raycroft also noted that with two elections in 2018, the Chamber played a crucial role in connecting people with candidates, by hosting various debates.
