After a 4 game road trip which produced 3 goals and 4 losses help could be on the way for the short handed Belleville Senators. Belleville was missing 9 players due to injuries and NHL call-ups.
The parent Ottawa Senators have re-assigned defencemen Eric Burdoerfer and Stefan Elliott back to Belleville and put forward Max McCormick on waivers. If McCormick isn’t claimed by another NHL team by noon today, he will return to the B-Sens where he had 27 points in 49 games last season. McCormick only dressed in 14 games for Ottawa this year, scoring once.
Should Ottawa get through tonight’s game against Nashville without further injury, which is never a given, all 3 players will be in Belleville’s lineup when they return to the road this week with games in Rochester on Wednesday and Cleveland on Friday and Saturday.
Missing from the recent road trip were defencemen Jordan Murray (inj), Julius Bergman (inj), captain Erik Burgdoerfer (Ottawa) and Stefan Elliott (Ottawa) as well as forwards Jim O’Brien (inj), Andrew Sturtz (inj), Filip Chlapik (inj), Jack Rodewald (inj) and Nick Paul (Ottawa). Also with the NHL Senators are forward Drake Batherson and goaltender Mike McKenna.
