Former Bulldogs score in UK
The Canadian Senior Womens Rugby Team is 2-1 on their tour of the United Kingdom.
Belleville’s Cindy Nelles and Sara Svoboda each scored a try during Canada’s 38-21 win over Cardiff this weekend in Wales. Nelles (St. Theresa Secondary) and Svoboda (Centennial Secondary) are products of the Belleville Bulldogs rugby program. The Canadian team wraps up their tour against Scotland tomorrow in Glasgow.
Bantam Bearcats win silver in Pittsburgh
The Wellbusters Belleville Bantam Bearcats earned a silver medal at the Pittsburgh Thanksgiving Classic girls hockey tournament this weekend. The Bearcats won their first three games including two by shutout. One by Anna Phillips, the other by Victory Brunton. They lost 3-2 to Pittsburgh Elite in the final. Emily Moore and Taryn Rathwell scored in the loss.
Spirits win Belleville tournament
The Belleville Girls Under 12 Spirits basketball team won gold at the Belleville Spirits Hoop Classic this weekend.
Belleville was 5-0 including a 35-13 win over North York in the final.
Belleville outscored their opponents 213-44 in the tournament.
