Madison Excavating- Major Peewee
The Madison Excavating Quinte Red Devils Peewees were on the road this past weekend to take on the Whitby Wildcats at Iroquois Park.The Devils wasted no time, scoring in the early minutes of the first to take a 1- 0 lead. The goal came from Carson Campbell on the point, assisted by Braedyn Rogers and Ben Vreugdenhil. Quinte would add another to their lead before the end of the first set to make it 2-0 going into the second. Vreugdenhil on the set up from Gage Butcher and Rogers. The second period was back and forth but it was the Devils again who hit the scoreboard with a goal from Thomas Kuipers, assisted by Caleb Martin. The Wildcats would continue to battle and scored their first of the game in the third but the Devils answered back shortly after to make it 4-1 final. Third period goal scored by Vreugdenhil, assisted Jared Langdon and Kuipers. Mike McIvor was solid in the net for Quinte, making key saves throughout the game.
The Madison Excavating Peewees will be back in action this Wednesday at the CAA Arena as they host the Peterborough Petes and will be on the road on Saturday to face the York Simcoe Express at St. Andrew’s.
Foley Bus Lines- Major Bantam
The Foley Bus Lines QRD Bantams only had one game this weekend. They hosted the Clarington Toros in Cobourg.
The Devils opened the scoring just 5 minutes into the first period but unfortunately that would be the only goal of the game for them. The Toros would answer back a few minutes into the second period and tie the game at 1 goal each. The third period was scoreless and the game ended with each team earning one point.
Next action is this Thursday against the Kingston Frontenacs @ 8:15pm at the QSWC (Family Dental Centre).
A.Walsh Fencing- Novice
The Devils took to the road this past Saturday to play against the Clarington Toros. The Toros got off to a quick start as they scored a goal a minute into the game to take a 1-0 lead. Clarington would add 2 more goals before the third period to take a 3-0 lead.
The Devils would get on the board with a goal in the first minute of the third period. The Devils would continue to apply pressure to the Toros the whole third period with 12 shots on goal to 0 for the Toros, but couldn’t find the back of the net and the game would end 3-1 for the Toros.

On Sunday, the Devils hosted the Whitby Wildcats at home in Madoc for an ETA first place battle. Whitby would open the scoring in the first period to take a 1-0 lead, both teams would score 1 more goal each in the first period and Whitby would carry a 2-1 lead into the second period.
The second period both teams would exchange many scoring chances and the Wildcats would hold a 4-3 lead going into the third period.
The Devils took over in the third period with 2 goals in the period and controlled most of the play. The Devils would go on to win 5-4 and stay in first place in the ETA East.

The Pond at Rhino Sports & Playland- Minor Atom
The Rhino Sports Minor Atom team traveled to Whitby to face the undefeated Wildcats. The game was scoreless after the first.
Jake Gawley (assisted by Brayden Davidson) found the back of the net and the devils were on the board. Just over a minute later Ryan Foley (assisted by Grayson Hunt) scored. At the end of the second the score was 2-1 for Quinte. Whitby came out and scored two goals in the third, but Quinte fought back. Chase Cybulskie (from Ryan Foley) tied the game. It was a great team effort and well played game!
On Sunday the team hosted the Central Ontario Wolves in Madoc. The devils took home two points with their 6-1 win over the wolves. Goals were scored by: Grayson Hunt, Jake Gawley (x2), Blake Munnings, Keegan Goulah, and Chase Cybulskie.
The team has one game next week, when they take on the Oshawa Generals on Sunday.
Free Flow Petroleum- Minor Midget
The Minor Midget Free Flow Petroleum Red Devils played three home games this week and earned 4 points with a two wins and a loss.
Thursday night the boys lost to the Peterborough Petes in a high scoring match. Final score was 6-4. Quinte goal scorers were Zack Brooks, Daniel Michaud (2) and Luke LaPalm. Assists were from Michaud (2), Clayton Farrow, Zack Brooks and Nathaniel Burelle.
Quinte had better luck playing the Western Division over the weekend with wins against the Markham Waxers and North Central Predators.
Saturday the Minor Midgets opened the scoring in the second period with a goal from Erik MacNiel and assist from Ben White. Markham scored to tie it up but Quinte answered again with a power play goal from Jett Butler with assists from Connor Brooks and Nathaniel Burelle. Markham scored once more in the second but Issac Uens got the game winner in the third with assists credited to Luke LaPalm and Burelle. Daniel Michaud followed up with an empty netter with Gavin Camp picking up an assist.
The boys were back at it again on Sunday afternoon, facing off against the current Western Division leaders the North Central Predators. Quinte penalty killing was top notch as the team fought off 22 minutes in penalties. Two goals in the second from Clayton Farrow and Luke LaPalm with assists from Ben White and Maguire Shortt, followed by two more in the third credited to White (unassisted) and Michaud with an assist from Farrow earned the team their first shutout of the season.
Alex Lucas was solid in net for all three games and earned his first shutout against NCP.
Bonn Law- Minor Bantam
The Bonn Law Minor Bantams, along with 15 other teams from across Ontario and parts of the US, competed at the Shanahan International Tournament in Toronto this past weekend. The Red Devils earned a spot in the semi finals of the tournament, but had to settle with the Bronze medal after a tough 5-1 loss to the Mississauga Reps who went on to win the tournament.
The team battled through injuries and suspensions throughout the weekend to secure a 5th place seed after the round robin play posting a 3-1 record. The boys defeated Victory Honda from Michigan 4-3 in OT in the opening game of the tournament before dropping their second game to the Mississauga Reps 6-2. Day two proved to be a test of endurance and character as the boys secured 4 points with wins against the PAL Jr Islanders from New York (3-1) and London Jr Knights (4-2). In the quarter finals on Sunday morning, the boys dug deep and pulled off a 4-1 win against the Anaheim Jr Ducks to secure the spot in the Semi finals.
The Minor Bantams return to league play this coming weekend with games vs. Ajax Pickering Raiders and Richmond Hill Coyotes.
Pita Pit- Minor Peewee
The Pita Pit Minor Peewees headed west to Toronto for the weekend to participate in the Shanahan International Tournament.
In their first game they faced the undefeated number 4 ranked team in Ontario, London Jr Knights, they skated with them for 2 periods but London took over in the third and won 6-0.
Next up was the 5th ranked team the Mississauga Rebels and again the Rebels took over in the third in a 6-1 loss Quinte. Lone goal was scored by Evan Erwin with assists from Rylan McCormack and Deke Osterhout.
Unfortunately the Devils suffered their third loss of the tournament 3-2 against Connecticut Jr Rangers. Goal scorers were Ben Sherwin and Owen Cassidy with assists from Carter Chadwick 2 and Kaiden Harmon.
Liam Boyer was solid in net for the Devils.
The Red Devils salvaged one win on the weekend by defeating the Minutemen Flames from Boston 3-2. Goals came from Osterhout, Ben Laird and Harmon with assists coming from Pax Murphy, Sam Thompson, McCormack, Erwin and Cassidy.
Reece Herman was solid in net for the Devils win.

KKP- Major Atom
The KKP Major atoms had one game this past week.
On Saturday night the Devils hosted the Whitby Wildcats.
The Devils fought to the end but ended up losing 4-3.
Nowl Wallace played goal for the Devils.
Kaden Koutroulides, Connor Fetterley and Jack Foley scored for the Devils.
Ryland Cunningham (2), Cooper Kelly and Jacob Moore picked up assists.
The Devils head to Kingston tonight before heading to Niagara Falls next weekend for a tournament.
McInroy Maines- Major Midget
It was a win, loss and tie for McInroy Maines Major Midgets this week in ETA action. The parity within the league this year leaves fans on the edge of their seats most nights, with players forced to be at their best.
