In their first year in the South Hastings Baseball League the Bain Excavating Rockies have their first championship.
A.J. Burlington struck out 7 over 5 innings and pitched in with 3 runs batted in as Bain defeated the Melrose Farrell Excavating Shamrocks 6-4 to win the Thornton Portt Memorial Trophy in 5 games. Joe Blakely pitched the final two innings for the championship clinching save.
Blakely was named the Most Valuable Player in the SHBL this season and coach Wyatt Dever was selected as Coach of the Year.
