Two men from Harcourt have been arrested in connection with an alleged beating in the Bancroft area earlier this month.
Police were called to the Bancroft hospital on September 14 and spoke to a man who said he had been beaten early that morning.
The victim was transferred to another hospital with life threatening injuries.
OPP detectives, the K-9 Unit and Emergency Response team investigated at a home on Highway 127 in Hastings Highlands, in connection with the incident.
On September 20, police went to a home in Haliburton County to arrest the two suspects and also seized more than 100 stolen items, guns and drugs.
The charges are as follows:
24 year-old Cody Allen Purtell of Harcourt Ontario has been charged with:
- Aggravated assault
- Disguise with Intent
- Trespassing at Night
- Theft over $5000
- Produce a Schedule II substanc e
- Possession of a Schedule II substance for the purpose of trafficking over 3 kg
- Possess property obtained by crime over $5000
- Possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order
- Careless storage of firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition
- Possession of a firearm, prohibited or restricted weapon obtain by crime
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm
- Robbery with intent
21 year-old Tyler PURTELL of Harcourt Ontario has been charged with:
- Disguise with Intent
- Trespassing at Night
- Produce a Schedule II substance
- Possession of a Schedule II substance for the purpose of trafficking over 3 kg
- Possess property obtained by crime over $5000
- Theft over $5000
- Careless storage of firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm
- Possession of a firearm, prohibited or restricted weapon obtain by crime
